Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore invites application for admission in to Doctoral Research Programme 2012-13 in Agricultural Economics or Rural Development, Development Studies, Economics, Education, Environmental Economics / Ecological Economics / Natural Resource Economics, Political Science / International Relations / Public Administration, Population / Demographic Studies, Sociology / Social Anthropology.
The candidates of Master’s Degree or equivalent in any of the above disciplines at least 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC / ST), A pass in UGC-NET or JRF or SLET or M.Phil are eligible to apply the application. Age limit for ICSSR fellowship is below 35 years, 40years in case of Teachers and members of Professional Staff in Research Institutes. There is no age bar for ISEC and Part time Ph.D. candidates.
The candidates selected for ICSSR / ISEC fellowship are paid a scholarship of Rs. 6,000 PM. During the PhD Foundation Coursework period beside an annual contingency grant of Rs/- 12, 000. Upon successful completion of PhD Coursework the fellowship is extendable to a contingency of Rs. 10,000/-per annum. During the third year, the Fellowship payable will be Rs. 18,000/-PM and the annual contingency will be Rs. 20, 500/-.
The selection procedure will be held on the basis of the quality of their research proposal. The short listed candidates will be called for written test and the result will displayed in the website http://www.isec.ac.in on or before 15th June, 2012. Qualifying candidates will appear a PI on 13th July, 2012.
