The test will have questions of MBBS standard in the following approximate distribution.

20% from Psychiatry and allied behavioral sciences.
15% from Neurology.
30% from General Medicine
35% from rest of medical Subjects.

For Ph.D in Clinical Psychology, M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology. And Social Psychology and M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work courses also the entrance test will be of MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. The test will have questions of M.A. / M.Sc. standard. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer

For Diploma in Psychiatric nursing course: there shall not be a written entrance examination. However, there will be an interview for the selection of the candidates.

M.Sc Applied Geology (IITB, IITR) / Joint M.Sc-Ph.D. in Geology (IITKgp) / M.Tech. in Geological Technology (IITR): Bachelor’s degree with Geology as a subject for 3 years / Six Semesters and any two subjects among Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biological Science holders are eligible for this course. The Candidate must have Mathematics at (10+2) level

Geophysics (GP)

1.    M.Sc. Applied Geophysics (IITB): Bachelor’s degree with both Mathematics and Physics as subjects for two years and at least one of them as a subject for three years holders are eligible for this course.
2.    Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Geophysics (IITKgp): Bachelor’s degree with any two subjects among Mathematics, Physics, and Geology for three years/six semesters holders are eligible for this course.
3.    M.Tech. Geophysical Technology (IITR): Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics & Physics as subjects  and any one among Chemistry, Geology, Statistics, Electronics & Computer Science holders are eligible for this course.

Mathematics (MA)

1.    M.Sc. Mathematics (IITB, IITD, IITK, IITM) / M.Sc. Mathematics & Computing (IITG) / M.Sc Applied Mathematics (IITR) / Joint M.Sc-Ph.D. in Mathematics (IITKgp): Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as a subject for at least two years/four semesters holders are eligible for this course.
2.    M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Operations Research (IITB): Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics or Statistics as a subject for at least two years/four semesters holders are eligible for this course.
3.    M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Environmental Science & Engg. (IITB): Bachelor’s degree with any one of Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics for two years/four semesters and any one of the remaining two subjects for at least one year/two semesters holders are eligible for this course.
4.    M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Energy (IITB): Bachelor’s degree with any one of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics for two years/four semesters and any one of the remaining two subjects for at least one year/two semesters holders are eligible for this course.

Mathematical Statistics (MS)

M.Sc. Applied Statistics & Informatics (IITB) / M.Sc. Statistics (IITK) / M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Operations Research (IITB): Bachelor’s degree with either Mathematics or Statistics as a subject for at least two years/four semesters holders are eligible for this course.

Physics (PH)
