The Chief Minister’s Fellowship Program is an extraordinary opportunity where Fellows will spend 11 months on high-profile projects, based in Gujrat, to make an exceptional impact in the sphere of social development.


The Govt. of Gujrat is a proven leader in economic growth, agricultural development, innovation in scheme design and use of advanced technology in governance. Applications are invited for State Level National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination from eligible students studying in class VIII in recognized schools located in Orissa. NMMS Examination will be held on 20th November, 2011(Sunday).


The examination will be conducted in one stage along with stage 1 of NTS Examination, 2012. The candidates are not required to pay any examination fee.


The candidate must have passed Class VII Annual Examination securing at least 55% (5% relaxable for reserved categories) of marks or equivalent and studying in Class VIII and the annual income of their parent must not exceed Rs. 1.50 Lakhs, are eligible to appear National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination. Students studying in Government Residential Schools like Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Residential Schools under SC / ST Development Department etc. are not eligible for scholarship under this scheme.


The State Level NMMS Examination contains two papers of Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). To obtain scholarship for NMMS and to sit in Stage-II Examination of NTS, the candidate must secured 40% of marks(32% in case reserved category) in each (MAT / SAT).

ADMISSION IN TO PH.D. AT BHABA ATOMIC  RESEARCH CENTRE.

Bhaba Atomic  Research Centre invites application from eligible candidates for admission in to Ph.D. Pragramme in various Engineering disciplines, and in basic Sciences such as Physical, Chemical and Life Sciences. This Ph.D. Programe is under the ageis of Homi Bhaba National Institute (HBNI), a deemed to be university.

A limited Number of Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs), awarded by Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), will be offered to those selected for the Ph.D. Program. The Fellowship amount is Rs. 12,000/- per month for first & second year & Rs. 14,000/- per month for subsequent years besides house rent and medical benefits as per rules. The candidates selected as per the BARC training school selection process can also pursue the Ph.D. Program with fellowship from other sources like UGC-CSIR, DBT, ICMR and other National agencies. A few meritorious candidates will be offered DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme Ph.D. (DGFS-Ph.D.) Fellowship. It carries fellowship of Rs. 15,000/- per month in the first year and Rs. 18,000/- pm in succeeding years.

Selection for the Ph.D Program is a two step process. Screening to short-list candidates followed by interview of short-listed candidates.

Eligibility:

Those having MSE in Physics/ Chemistry / Biology or related Science subjects with minimum 60% marks in M.Sc. as well as B.Sc. or B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in one of the following engineering discipline : Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Instrumentation are eligible to apply.

Applicant for Physics Discipline should have Physics & Mathematics up to B.Sc. or at Subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of 5 years integrated M.Sc.. Applicants for Chemistry discipline should have Mathematics up to XII standard and Physics up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of 5 years integrated M.Sc.

For Biology & related disciplines M.Sc in Agriculture, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Botant, Zoology, Plant Science, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Food Technology, Animal Science, Life Science and Biosciences; or BE / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Tech) only in food Technology with minimum of 60% marks. M.Sc. applicants should have Physics or Chemistry or Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and / or Ancillary level in case of 5 year Integrated M.Sc. with minimum of 60% aggregate marks in M.Sc. as well as in B.Sc.. Applicants opting to be considered on the basic of GATE score should have valid GATE score in life Sciences. Those having M.Sc. with specialization with subjects like Fisheries, Horticulture, Forestry, Agronomy, Animal Husbandry, Marine Biology & Home Science etc. and BE / B.Tech. / M.Tech. in Biotechnology / Genetic Engineering are not eligible.

*A minimum of 60% marks means that 60% minimum marks in the qualifying degree / PG Degree as per the ordinance of the respective university in the respective disciplines or equivalent CGPA (Converted to % marks by multiplying with 100/x if CGPA is on x point scale).

Those whose final results of qualifying degree are awaited can also apply. In the event of selection mark sheets of final results should be submitted by November 30, 2010. The candidates desirous of availing DAE Fellowship should have been born on or after September 1, 1984. Age limit is relaxable by three years for OBC and by five years for SC/ST applicants.
