Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) envisions the integration of Space Technology and Space Science educational programs with basic and applied research for meeting the national R&D requirements of science and technology in general and of the Indian Space Programme in particular. Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates for admission to the Ph.D Programme starting in July 2011, under IIST Fellowship (Fellowship of $16,000/--or $18,000/- per month), in the areas of Geology (Petrology), English and Social Sciences.

The BS-MS Programme

1.    The dual degree BS-MS is an integrated five-year course after 12th standard.
2.    The First two years will have core courses in basis sciences.
3.    Third and fourth years will be dedicated to Specialization in Chosen Science Subject.

1.    KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana): Students qualified in SA (2009) / SX (2010) / SB (2010) / SP (Passed 10+2 in 2010 / 2011).
2.    IIT-JEE 2011: Students obtaining a minimum of 60% marks in Class XII and securing a rank in the regular merit list.
3.    State / Central Board: Students qualifying in Class XII in 2010 or 2011 in Science Stream. The Cut – off  Percentage for INSPIRE Fellowship of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) to be used for the boards for Class X and XII are given in http:// www.inspire-dst.gov.in / Inspire-Advertisement.pdf. For OBC (non-creamy) a 5% relaxation of the DST Cut-off is tenable. The cut -off for SC / ST is 60% in Class X and Class XII for all boards. M.Tech. in Clinical Engineering is a joint programmed offered by IIT Madras, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum, and Christian Medical College, Vellore. NCERT DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP.

Applications are invited for the award of 10 NCERT Doctoral Fellowship in the field of education and other disciplines directly related to the education. The fellowships are intended for young aspirants to pursue doctoral work in a recognized university / research institution of their choice. Young scholars from different disciplinary perspectives will be encouraged to researches in the field of education.

The fellowship will be given to the candidates doing research in the priorities areas of national Curriculum Framework 2005 like Education of the Disadvantaged, Classroom Process and Practices, Curricular Areas, Education for Peace, and Psycho Social development for Children.

Eligibility: 1. Good academic record with at least 55% marks at the master’s degree level.2. Candidates should not be more than 35 years of age as on the last date of receiving of their application. 3. Candidates registered for Ph.D. degree in a recognized university / or working towards their Ph.D. registration are eligible to apply.

Interested candidate can apply in the asked format along with concept paper of about 1500 words on the theme of proposed research which should contain statements about rationale and objective of the study, conceptual framework, proposed methodology and potential contribution of the study.

Selection will be made on the basis of seminar-cum-interview and candidates will be paid second class train fare (sleeper) by the shortest route who will be asked to attend the seminar. Reservation is as per the government norms.

The selected candidates will receive the fellowship amount of Rs.12, 000/- per month for a period of 3 years and contingency grant of Rs.10, 000/- Per Annum.
