ADMISSION IN TO HUMAN DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (HDF) SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT.

Human Development Foundation (HDF) School of Management in partnership with National Institute of Agriculture Extension & Management (MANAGE) invites applications from Graduates / Diploma holders in Agriculture & Allied Subjects for training to set up Agri-Business / Agri-Clinics in different part of the state through training & subsequent hand holding support, including credit linkages with banks up to Rs. 10 lacks with subsidy.

Trainees will under go theoretical training at HDF Gramin ITC at Barsahi, Mayurbhanj on setting up Agri-business / Agri-Clinic for two months. Hand holding support from project formulations to execution will also be provided by experts engaged by HDF.

AWARD OF FELLOWSHIPS BY INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED STUDY.


Indian Institute of Advanced Study invites application for award of fellowships for advanced research in the following areas

1.
A.    Social, political and economics Philosophy;
B.     Comparative Indian Literature(including Ancient, Medieval, modern Folk and tribal);
C.    Comparative Studies in Philosophy and Religion;
D.    Comparative Studies in History (including Historiography and Philosophy  of History);
E.    Education, Culture, arts including performing Arts and Crafts;
F.    Fundamental  Concepts and problems of Logic and mathematics;
G.    Fundamental  Concepts and problems of Natural and life sciences ;
H.    Studies in environment;
I.    Indian civilization in the context of Asian Neighbors; and
J.    Problems of Contemporary Indian in the context of National integration and nation-building.

2. In addition to the above themes 2-4 Fellowships would be awarded to scholars who to work on any theme related to Contentious Politics.
3. there will be 1-2 fellowships on Gandhi’s life and Thought.
4. Since the institute is committed to advanced study, proposals involving empirical work with data collection and fieldwork would not be considered.
5. Applications from scholars working in, and on, the NorthEastern region are encouraged.
6. Scholars belonging to the weaker section of society would be given preference.
7. the institute will evaluate and consider for publication the monographs of the Fellows submitted on completion of their term.
8. The term of fellowship would initially be for a period of one year , extendable by another year, but in no case will it extend beyond two years.
9. The prescribed application from and details of the Fellowship grants payable to the fellows are available on the website of the institute www.iias.org  and can also be obtained  from the institute by sending a self-addressed envelop(5*11”)with postage stamp of Rs.10 affixed. The application on the prescribed from may be sent to the secretary, Indian Institute of advanced Study, Shimla-171005. Applications can also be made on line at http://www.iias.org .
10. Fellows would be expected to remain in residence from 1 March to 15 December. Their stay at the institute during the winter months would be optional .They may proceed on study tours during this period.
11. We provide hard furnished rent free accommodation to Fellows in cottages on the Rashtrapati Nivas Estate. In addition, scholars will be provided a personal fully furnished study (Which may be on sharing basis) with computer and internet facilities. The Fellows will not be entitled to any House Rent Allowance (HRA).
12. The Fellows will be provided with free stationary .in addition they would have access to institute vehicles for local travel on payment of nominal charges.
13. On matters of health, Fellows are entitled to free medical treatment at the dispensary of the institute.
14. It is mandatory for in-service candidates to apply through proper channel.

The Fellowship Selection Committee is likely to meet in the end of March 2010.

ADMISSION IN TO INDIAN STATISTICAL INSTITUTE.

Indian Statistical Institute invites application for admission in to the following Programs from the candidates having qualification as shown against each program. Stipend / Fellowship as mentioned against each program will be available to the deserving candidates.

1.    3-Year B.Stat.(Hons): Successful Completion of  10+2 Years Of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent. with Mathematics and English. Stipend Rs.800/. Pr Month.(Offered at Kolkata).
2.    3-Year B.Math.(Hons ): Successful completion of 10+2 year of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent with Mathematic and English .Stipend Rs.800/_per month.(Offered at Bangalore )

Candidated for the above two Programmer, who have successfully cleared the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad test Conducted by the National Board for Higher Mathematics Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of  India, Need not sit for the written test, such candidates would be directly called for interview. However,such candidates are required to apply in the prescribed application form.

3.    2-Year M.Stat: 3year Bachelors degree with statistics as full subject or a B.Math. Degree from the Indian statistical institute or a statistician’s Diploma in statistics from the Indian statistical institute .stipend Rs. 1200/-per month (Offered at kolkata ).
4.    2-year M.Math: 3year Bachelor”s degree or a B;E/B.tech.degree.with Mathematics and an exceptionally strong background in Anstract Algebra or a B.stat./B.math.degree from the Indian statistical institute stipend Rs.1200/-per month(Offered at kolkata).
5.    2-Year Master of Science (M.S.) in Quantitative Economics: 3-year Bachelor’s degree in Economics /Mathematics /statistics /physics or a B.Stat. degree from the Indian statistical institute Engineering graduates are also eligible. Candidates should have knowledge of Economics and Mathematics at the B.A/B.SC pass level. stipend Rs.1200/-per month.(Offered at kolkata & Delhi).
6.    2-Year Master of Science (M.S.)in Library and Information Scince:3 year Bachelors degree in any discipline the candidate must have secured at least 60%mark in the Bachelor degree. stipend Rs .1200/-per month (Offered at Bangalore).
7.    2-Year M.Tech in Computer Science: i)Master’s Degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Physics / Electronic Science / Computer Science / Computer Application / Information Technology or, (ii)Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology or any other qualification considered equivalent (such as AMIE or GRAD-IETE or, DOEACC “B” LEVEL). Stipend Rs.5000/- per month.(offered at kolkata).

A candidate with a valid GATE score above a threshold (to be decided by the selection committee) in his / her own subject would be directly called for interview. However, such candidates are required to apply in the prescribed application form.
8.    2-Year M.Tech. in Quality, Reliability and Operation Research: i) Masters Degree in Statistics or Master’s Degree in Mathematics with Probability and Statistics as major subjects or Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Technology or Equivalent or PG diploma in SQC & OR from the Indian Statistical Institute and ii)Knowledge of Mathematics at Graduate level and knowledge of Physics and Chemistry at Higher Secondary Level. Stipend Rs 5000/- per month(Offered at Kolkata).

A candidate who was asked to discontinue any of the above programmes is not eligible for readmission to the same programme.

9.    Junior Research fellowship:
A) Statistics: i)A good academic record with M.Stat / M.A. / M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Statistics or, ii)Outstanding Mathematical maturity with B.Stat / B.Math., B.A / B.Sc. or equivalent with Statistics as the main subject.
B) Mathematic: i) A good academic record with M.Stat. / M.Math. / M.A. / M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Mathematics or (ii) Outstanding Mathematical maturity with B.Stat / B.Math. / B.A. / B.Sc or equivalent degree with Mathematics as the main subject.
C) Quantitative Economics: i)A good academic Record with M.S (QE), M.Stat / M.A. / M.Sc. or equivalent Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Econometrics or ii) Outstanding Mathematical Maturity with B.A / B.Sc. Degree With Economics as the main subject. A candidate possessing a Master’s Degree in any subject with Mathematics / Statistics at B.A. / B.Sc. (pass) level is also eligible.
D) Computer Science: A good academic record with M.E. / M.Tech. or equivalent degree in  Electronics / Telecommunication / Radio Physics / Computer Science / Electrical Engineering / Microwave Communications / Information Technology / Bioinformatics / Biotechnology with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at the graduate level or good academic record with M.Sc. / M.C.A. / M.A or equivalent degree in Physics / Mathematics / Applied Mathematics / Statistics / Electronics Sciences / Computer science / Atmospheric Science / Information Technology / Bioinformatics / Biotechnology with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at the graduate level. Outstanding Candidates having B.E. / B.Tech. or equivalent degree in the above subjects will also be eligible.
E) Quality Reliability and Operation Research: A good academic record with M.Tech / M.E. / M.S. / M.Phill. or equivalent degree in quality / Reliability / Operation Research or a good academic record with M.Stat / M.Sc / M.A. or equivalent degree in Mathematic / Statistics / Physics with Mathematic as a compulsory subject at the graduate level . Out standing candidate having B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent degree in the above subject will also be eligible.
F) Biological Anthropology: A good academic record with a Bachelor’s Degree with Anthropology as the Honours / full subject and a Master’s degree in Anthropology (with specialization in Physical / Biological Anthropology).
G) Physics and Applied Mathematics: A good academic record with M.Sc. in  Physics / Mathematics / Statistics.
H) Agriculture & Ecology: A good academic record with M.Sc. in Botany (with specialization in Plant Physiology / Biochemistry / Environmental Science / Applied Mathematic / Statistics.
I) Sociology: A good academic record with M.A / M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Development  Studies / Sociology / Economics Agricultural Economics or any other subject in social sciences.
J) Geology: A good academic record with M.Sc. in Geology / Applied Geology / Geophysics or equivalent.
K) Psychology: A good academic record with M.A / M.Sc. in Psychology / Applied Psychology.
L) Library and Information Science: A consistently good academic record with first or high second class in M.S. (LIS) awarded by the Indian Statistical Institute or Associateship in Documentation and Information science of the Indian Statistical Institute or NISCAIR / INSDOC or its equivalent degree (such as Master degree in Library and Information Science from any University ) with at least 55% marks in undergraduate programme.

Selection of candidates is based on academic record, Written tests and interviews conducted by the Institute. Last date for submission of application form is 26 March, 2010.
