Eligibility:
1.    The candidate must be a permanent resident of Orissa or outlying oriya tract of west Bengal / Chhattisgarh / Jharkhand / Andhra Pradesh.

3.    The candidates must have passed ORIYA as MIL up to Matriculation standard or any such equivalent or higher examination (+2) or should have passed oriya as a subject in special examination conducted by the BSE, Orissa of HSC standard or should have passed HSC examination of BSE, Orissa in Oriya medium with MIL other than Oriya. In case of candidate who have assed without oriya as MIL should submit a certificate to the effect from the concern head master, that he / she passed HSC examination in Oriya medium.
4.    The PB Candidates with disability of minimum 40% are eligible to apply.
5.    In case of Green card holder candidates. Green card of health & family welfare department, government of Orissa issued in favour of their parents, spouse or self by the concerned CDMO must be submitted with the application form.
6.    In case of EX- service man candidates, the EX- serviceman certificate issued in favour of their parents / spouse by the respective defiance headquarters / Rajya sainik board / Zilla sainik board must be submitted with the application form.
7.    The candidate in Urdu Category seeking admission in govt. Urdu S.T. School, CTC must have passed URDU as MIL in HSC Examination or any other examination declared as equivalent to HSC standard by the BSE, Orissa.
8.    The candidate of sports category must have represented the state in any game and submit the sports certificate issued by the directorate of sports.

ICMR INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS BY INDIAN COUNCIL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) invites application from Indian biomedical Scientists for the international fellowships for the year 2011-12. Number of fellowships is 12 for young scientists & 6 for senior scientists.

Eligibility

1.    M.D. / Ph.D. degree with at least three years teaching /research experience for young scientists and at least fifteen years teaching /research experience for senior scientists.
2.    Regular position in a recognized biomedical/research/health institution in india.
3.    Below 45 years of age for young and 55 years for senior scientists.

Financial support: US $ 2400 per month, contingency grant of Rs. 15,000/- and return economy class air ticket  (excursion airfare) for young scientists, US $ 160 per day (including US$ 75 as per diem and rest for accommodation expenses) and return economy class air ticket (excursion airfare) for senior scientists.

Note:

1.    The applicant should submit a letter of acceptance from the foreign institute where he/she proposes to work along with a concrete plan of training / research work to be undertaken during the fellowship.
2.    Recommendation by the head of the parent organization / Institute is essential.
3.    Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
4.    Decision of ICMR will be final.
5.    If selected, the fellowship is to be availed before 28th February, 2012.

Government of India Fellowships @ Rs. 12,000/- per month for 1st & 2nd Years and Rs. 14,000/- per month for 3rd year respectively available for the Indian students who have qualified NET for lectureship only in Population or it’s Interdisciplinary subjects conducted by the UGC. Such Ph.D. Fellowships also carries a contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- per year for the first 2 years and Rs. 20,500/- for the 3rd year. However the candidates without NET qualification shall be given fellowships @ 6,250/- per month for the 1st & 2nd years and Rs. 7,000/- per month for the 3rd year with a contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- per year. Number of seats will be as per the availability of fellowships at the time of admission. In addition UGC-JRF & other fellowship holders will also be consider for admission as per availability of seats.

Eligibility
Applicants possessing minimum second class in the following are eligible to apply.

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an appropriate field of Engineering / Technology / Architecture; or Master’s degree in science in an appropriate field /Agriculture /Biotechnology , Architecture  or MBBS or M.Pharma or M.V.Sc or Master’s degree in Garman language, or in Economics, Geography, Social Work, Psychology, Management, Mathematics Statistics Operations Research, Computer Science / Application as applicable to the respective departments .
Qualifying in one of the following appropriate tests  (with validity as on 1st of  August 2011) is mandatory for the candidates applying for Ph.D. in Science, Interdisciplinary programs and M.Sc. (Engg.): CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, or UGC-NET for JRF; or DBT JRF or ICMR JRF; or JEST, or NBHM or IISc Entrance test; or GATE. This is not applicable to the candidates who possess a Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Management (post BE/B.Tech.) who wish to apply for the departments in the Engineering Faculty.

IISc Entrance Test is conducted in Atmospheric Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Ecological Sciences, Mathematics, Management Studies, and Materials Sciences.

2. Candidates with BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree who may not have qualified in any of the above mentioned National Entrance Tests will also be considered for the Ph D. program in Engineering. Short listing for interview of such candidates is based on their academic performance in the qualifying degree (up to 3rd year in BE/B Tech.), and their performance in 10th and 12th /PUC examinations.

(ii) Course program (ME/M.Tech/M.Des)

(A)    ME  in Aerospace  Engineering , Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Microelectronics Signal Processing Systems Science & Automation and Telecommunication Engineering:  Minimum second class In Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field of Engineering / Technology or post B.Sc AMIE or equivalent degree in Engineering  with valid GATE Score holders are eligible for this course. Selection is based on valid GATE Score only.
(B)    M.Tech. in Electronics Design & Technology, Computational Science, Climate Science, Transportation & Infrastructure Engineering and Instrumentation: Minimum second class in the qualifying examination with valid GATE score holders is eligible for this course.
(C) M.Des  in Product Design & Engineering: Minimum second class at Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Design / Architecture or Post B.Sc. AMIE or equivalent degree in Engineering including Architecture with –valid GATE / CEED Scores holders are eligible for this course. Selection is based on a Design Aptitude test and interview subsequent to sort-listing based on valid GATE / CEED Scores.
(D) Master of Management (M.Mgt): Minimum first class in Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or equivalent degree with valid GATE / JMET scores are eligible to apply for this course.

(iii) integrated Ph.D. Program

1.    Biological Sciences: First class in B.Sc. degree under 10+2+3 year system or equivalent in Physical, Chemical or Biological Sciences (including Pharmaceutical Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences) passed candidates are eligible for this course.
2.    Chemical Sciences: First class in B.Sc. degree under 10+2+3 year system or equivalent with Chemistry as one of the main subject associated with Mathematics at PUC (plus 2) level passed candidates are eligible for this course.
3.    Physical Sciences: First class in B.Sc. degree under 10+2+3 year system or equivalent with Physics as a main subjects passed candidates are eligible for this course.
4.    Mathematical Sciences: First class in B.Sc. degree under 10+2+3 year system or equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology passed candidates is eligible for this course.

      (iv)External Registration Program (Ph.D. Only)

1.    It is a sponsored Research Program for Working Professionals from R&D organization / Industries and for faculty members from Engineering, Agricultural, Pharmaceutical, Veterinary, Medical Colleges, Universities, recognized by the appropriate government agencies.
2.    Ph.D. in Science: All the science departments as indicated in (i) except High Energy Physics and solid state & Structural Chemistry.
3.    Ph.D. in Engineering: All the Engineering departments as indicated in (i)

Qualifications remain the same as for the regular candidates. Apart from that the candidate should have two years of continuous service in a permanent position in the current organization.

Candidates admitted to Masters programme in Animal Biotechnology with basic qualification other than B.V.Sc. and A.H. degree shall get M.Sc. degree in Animal Biotechnology.
N.    Nagpur Vetenary College, MAFSU, Nagpur: Vetenary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V. Sc & A.H.) recognized by Vetenary Council of India.
O.    Assam Agricultural University: For admission in to the M.V.Sc programme in Animal Biotechnology, a candidate has to pass B.V.Sc & A.H. from a recognized university securing a minimum OGPA of 7.00 in 10.00 scale or equivalent. In case of SC / ST candidates the minimum requirement of OGPA is relaxable to 6.50 in 10.00 scale

ADMISSION IN TO M.PHIL./ PH.D. AT NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL PLANNING AND ADMINISTRATION

Application are invited for admission in to M.Phil./Ph.D. & Part-time Ph.D. Programme of the university to pursue research in the areas related to educational policy, planning and administration from a broad inter-disciplinary social science perspective.

Fellowships: Selected candidates for the M.phil shall be offered stipend and those selected for Ph.D shall be offered a fellowship at par with UGC rates. Eligibility criteria

Fulltime programmes:

A.    A candidate seeking admission to the M.Phil and Ph.D programmes shall have a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST candidate and persons with disabilities) or its equivalent grade in Masters Degree in Social Sciences and allied disciplines from a recognized University candidates possessing Masters Degree in other areas may also be considered if he/she has teaching experience or experience of working in the area of educational policy planning and administration.
B.    A candidate seeking admission to Ph .D programme shall have an M.Phil degree in an area closely related to educational planning and administration and / or exceptionally brilliant academic record coupled with publications of high quality.
C.    M . Phill graduate of NUEPA will be eligible for admission to the Ph.D programme after due scrutiny by a selection / admission committee if they obtain a FGPA of 6 or above on the ten point scale.

Part time programme: A candidate seeking admission to part time ph.D programme is required to meet the following criteria i) should possess the educational qualification as mentioned in para a) above II) currently, should be in full time employment iii) should be a senior level educational functionary with a minimum of  five years work experience in teaching. ADMISSION IN TO INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY (IGNOU).

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) invites application from eligible candidates for admission in to the following courses

Management Programme

Non-Graduates (10+2 or equivalent) with six years of Managerial / Supervisory / Professional experience are eligible for taking admission in to Diploma in Management only after clearing the entrance test.

Selection will be made on the basic of OPENMAT test Conducted by IGNOU. Candidates who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission in to Management Program conducted by Institutions like CAT / MAT & State level Tests are also eligible for take admission to these courses. The cut off percentage for admission of these candidates will be decided by the university.

Post Graduate Certificate in Oral Implantology (PGCOI) / Post Graduate Certificate in Endodontics (PGCE): Candidates who are registered BDS Doctors after completion of Internship & their degree should be recognized by Dental Council of India are eligible for these two courses. The selection will be done on the basic of a combined entrance test for the two programmes after applying the reservation as per Govt. of India Rules.

M.Ed. Special Education in Hearing Impairment (MEDSEHM) / Learning Disability (MEDSELD) / Visual Impairment (MEDSEVI) / Mental Retardation (MEDSEMR): B.Ed Special Education or equivalent degree approved by rehabilitation council of India with an aggregate of 50% marks with 2 years teaching experience / Professional Experience having candidates are eligible for this course. Selection is based on the entrance test.

B.Ed. Special Education in Hearing Impairment / Visual Impairment / Mental Retardation: Bachelors degree from any recognized university holders are eligible for this course. Selection is based on the entrance test.

ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHI BY VEL TECH UNIVERSITY, CHENNAI.

Vel Tech Dr. RR and Dr. Sr Technical University, in Collaboration with The Hindu, has launched an All-India Merit Scholarship under the Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarships Scheme to offer a 50 percent tuition waiver for 25 deserving B.E. or B.Tech Students this year. The total value of the Scholarship is Rs. 50 lakh.

Students from across India who have Scored a minimum of 85 percent in aggregate in their Class 12 examinations in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology will be eligible to participate in the scheme. All Candidates must write the Vel Tech All- India Engineering Entrance Examination. All eligible students who have not been selected for any other Scholarships by the university or the government will be listed branch-wise in the descending order of their marks using a normalization process. All other things being equal, the most deserving candidates in terms of economic conditions will be selected, with   female candidates receiving preference Each Selected Student will receive a scholarship amount of Rs. 2 laks, which is equivalent to half the tuition fee over four years.
